Hey there! Y'all, this is a great spot to beat the heat! There is something for everyone. There is a play water area/pool for smaller children, a lazy river, and within in the lazy river is another pool. We arrived about 15 minutes before opening at 1 pm. We were the 3rd family in line within 5 minutes, there were about 30 people behind us. Benefits to being the early you are able to find shaded pool chairs under the big umbrellas and a tube for the lazy river ( there are about 7 in the whole park). We paid $15 for an adult and child (over 48 inches) to enter (not bad).
There is a very nice snack bar with plenty to choose from, and it is reasonably priced. The sign states no outside food or drinks;however, I did see a couple of people roll a small ice chest in. I'm not sure how strict that rule is. The green slide was down, but the other 2 slides were in working condition. We had a great time and I would highly recommend it.
So glad we found this place while staying in Abilene. The pool was on maintenance at the KOA and our grands wanted to swim.
The Cove has everything....3 slides....lazy river....kids area and adult pool. And the price was very reasonable....$8 for us and $6 for kids. They could use more umbrellas for shade and tubes for the slides and lazy river. But we had a great time there. They also have a snack bar that's reasonably priced and the food is good!!
Also plenty of life guards that were doing their job!!! Thank you!
There isn't any trees... limited shaded areas..all shaded areas are away from pool, hard to watch children... concrete around pool is really hot... burn feet so bad... I'm glad there was a pad near the stairs for the slides.... hope they will improve the areas that need work... to create a better water park.
Really enjoyed this place with the lazy river and pool. However, be aware the slides are super fast. You will gain immense speed and because of it bang up against the sides a lot. My right elbow is now bruised. The blue slide is longer than red one. The snack bar as decent options. Overall pretty cool place to hang out on a hot Texan day.
Adventure cove was a nice step back from reality and into a refreshing, tinsy getaway from the everyday stresses of life. They played great music as we sat back and relaxed on the lazy river. For a bit of a workout, we went down the water slides after climbing three flights of stairs. My legs were sore but it was worth it. Next time I'm in Abilene, I will be making plans to visit.
My 2yr old had a blast!! Everything was great for the most part! Just a couple things i noticed that could have been better: trash bins were piled up, bathroom was missing soap and toilet paper in the womens bathroom. Other than that, it was a good time.
It's nice for kids under 6. It could have and should have been much better. The City needs to expand it each year. There needs to be more shaded areas. The lazy river should be expanded to circle whole park. Also, a full sized Olympic sized pool should be installed, to include diving boards, so older kids can enjoy it. There is lots of potential but not there yet.
One slide shut down & not enough floatation devices & water is warming. No swimming here only lazy river. No diving boards are swimming areas for adults. Should have kept the old swimming pool with deep & shallow swimming areas & diving boards & stayed cool when Hot outside
